DIRECTOR OF CHINA MANUFACTURING
The Director of China Manufacturing will be responsible for the management of contract manufacturers, quality programs and enhancements, customer service, and other supply chain activities. This position requires the ability to define and develop Asia strategies for future sourcing programs, manage and oversee quality activities in China and to establish and monitor progress of organization cost objectives for projects, products and services. Strong management and negotiation skills and the ability to maintain budgets and successfully manage multiple priorities are required. Additionally, the director will manage GAME’s staff, located in China, who handle sourcing, planning, manufacturing and Quality Control.
This position requires cross functional leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and formulate a consensus operational strategy for the Company. The Director of China Manufacturing will deliver year over year improvements while improving operational efficiencies throughout the organization. The Director of China Manufacturing will manage the Company’s Supply Chain, Distribution and Customer Service departments. This position reports directly to the President with the opportunity for quick advancement to VP of Manufacturing or VP of Operations.
Responsibilities & Goals
- Develop the strategic sourcing framework and go-forward strategic sourcing processes
- Negotiate terms with vendors to ensure the best cost and value on all products and/or services
- Ability to establish, develop and cultivate relationships with suppliers, sales, marketing and finance
- Develops short and long-term objectives, goals and strategies that raise and maintain customer service factors, customer retention and customer revenue
- Works with company executive management, Directors / Managers / Supervisors, and staff to develop a positive customer oriented service, by providing training, support, coaching, recognition, methods for engagement, and performance feedback
- Identify and implement industry leading technologies and practices that enhance organization efficiency and productivity
- Establish global customer service metrics and scorecards to manage and measure customer service effectiveness including the use of customer satisfaction metrics
- Ability to manage and develop all operational staff
- Highly developed and disciplined in work ethic, accountability and follow-through
Qualifications
- BS degree (preferable technical in nature), MBA a plus
- 5 years of Consumer Product Electronics Sourcing and Manufacturing
- 5 years of sourcing experience in Asia, primarily with electronic contract assembly
- 3 years experience in QA management/leadership, Six Sigma certification a plus
- 2 years of Customer Service experience in increasingly responsible management positions
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to Asia (2-3 times per year)
- Proficient with MS Office Product Suite
- Detail-oriented and a proactive/self-starter with excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under intense deadlines
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to build cross-cultural relationships
- Ability to clearly express ideas verbally, graphically and in writing
- Strong analytical skills
